One
of Gaetano Perrone's fall 2011 shoes has a band of tiny scale-like
sequins that slinks down and over the foot with a serpentine swell,
before merging with the front leather strap. Another pair has a plumage
that creeps up the back of the heel and tickles the ankle with exotic
black feathers. Then there's the jewelled-ball that interrupts a heel or
dangles from an ankle strap. These are all shoes
fit for a fairytale ball, and yet they're classic shapes and classic
colours that - despite their exotic detailing - would fit perfectly into
many a wardrobe
